Introducing music teaching partners PeiHua Wang Both Peihua and Sarah are founding members of the Hiba teaching team and have seen the nursery and the importance of music within it grow. They are both Bachelor degree holders and have also both been in teaching for 18 years and have experience in bilingual, international and local education. Peihua enjoys the opportunity of ‘working with like-minded people’ and enjoys the opportunity to read, swim, travel and square dance. When opportunity arises, you will find her flower arranging or taking a tea ceremony.

Sarah Peel Sarah, a national Canadian, has been in China for 13 years dedicating the last nine years to teaching in early years. Sarah aspires to ‘inspire others to the joy of music and creative expression part of their lives every day’. Sarah believes that too often music is seen as an endeavour best left to professionals when it is really at the heart of the human experience and an important part of how we share culture, family traditions and celebrate together. Sarah’s hobbies include yoga, reading cooking, making music with friends and seeking out Shanghai’s best coffee! Here is something you may not know about her – she speaks Japanese.

Introducing physical play teacher Inês Oliveira Inês joined the team last year whilst she was undertaking her QTS and immediately felt a sense of belonging with the nursery. Graduating with a Bachelor degree in sport, Inês has now been in teaching for nine years, three of which have been in China. Sports (particularly volleyball) and travel are her passions, and outside of work, she tries to do both as much as possible. Inês considers travelling as a great opportunity to learn about other cultures and expand her perspective of the world. She also spends some of her spare time reading and listening to music. When asked about her aspirations, Inês explained:“ Professionally speaking, I hope to continue and develop my career as a teacher and make a difference to our pupils’ lives, helping as much as I can in their physical development as well as their individual personal growth” And here is something you won’t know about her – at age 14, Inês was a National Champion at volleyball (doubles). Inês is supported in physical play by Sylvia.
