Last week, JUCCCE’s (Joint US-China Collaboration on Clean Energy) nutrition project “Food Heroes” together with Peppa Pig visited the setting to teach our pupils the importance of eating properly and where our food comes from!
Food Heroes and Peppa Pig have put together a special nutrition education pack full of crafts, games, songs, posters and stickers to be used in teaching children about the importance of nutrition and food choices.
By planting the seeds of knowledge from an early age, we teach important life lessons that will improve the health and happiness of children and families in China for years to come.
What does that mean? It means things like:
- Eating an assortment of fruit and vegetables
- Finding appealing alternatives to junk food
- Promoting healthy and safe food habits
It’s all about making real foods fun and appealing to children… and we can make a change by working together! Food Heroes and Peppa Pig are working to bring their nutrition programme to early years’ settings and schools all over China in the near future. Wellington College Bilingual Shanghai was fortunate enough to preview the programme and learn some nutrition tips from Peppa Pig.
