We are busy preparing to welcome prospective parents to our very first open day on Saturday 14th November and we are all very excited at being able to tell families about our new setting, our curriculum and the experience that we will provide for children.
The open days have been extremely popular and have filled up very fast – so much so that we are already full up to January 2016. During the open days, parents will have a chance to get information on Wellington College Bilingual Shanghai, have a virtual tour through the facilities and take refreshments with myself and other members of the team.
I’ve just recently returned from a trip to Dubai where I met with a group of exceptional and outstanding practitioners in the field of Early Years’ Education. For me, having a close network of like-minded practitioners is something that is vital for discussing current practice, developing theories and strategies to promote learning; and watching children during play to see what engages them. I spent five days in Dubai and am bursting with ideas for curriculum development and learning opportunities to ensure we offer the children at Wellington College Bilingual Shanghai the very best possible education. One of the main advantages of having a creative, themed curriculum is that it provides the fluidity needed to meet the needs yet challenge all children, allowing the opportunities to be shaped by the little minds that lead the path to deep and meaningful learning – what a wonderful experience it is for our children to enjoy a rich and personal learning journey!
